General admission requirements
You can study a standard master's degree if you have:
- An standard degree from a Spanish university (of any level and duration)
- A foreign degree from an European Higher Education Area (EHEA) country, which enables the student to study a master's degree in the issuing country
- A foreign degree from a non-EHEA country, which is of an equivalent level to a standard degree in that country and which enables the student to study at postgraduate level there. The degree does not need to be formally recognised in Spain. Consult the information concerning document legalisation procedures at the Ministry of Education.

Apart from the general entrance requirements, each Master's Degree has its own admissions requirements and specific selection criteria. You can consult them at each Master's Degree page.
Admissions
Admissions procedure
- Fill in the application form and attach the documentation required.
- UVic Academic Administration will check that you meet general admission requirements and request that you send the €200 registration fee and original documents required. The registration fee is a deposit that will go towards course fees. If you are finally not accepted on the course or the course is cancelled, this sum will be reimbursed to you.
- Academic Administration passes your documents to the Admissions Committee for the Master's Degree course concerned.

- A certified copy of your identity card or passport
- A certified copy of your university academic record, with details of credits/hours and grades of subjects passed. For studies abroad, the document should specify the grading system used.
- A certified copy of your degree certificate
- Your currículum vitae
If you took your undergraduate degree at UVic, you will not need to supply these documents.
Optional documents
These documents certify:
- Professional experience
- Knowledge of foreign languages
- Mobility in previous studies
- ICT knowledge
- Research experience
- Reasons for wishing to pursue these studies (a letter)
Only certified activities can be taken into account, in line with the selection criteria for each Master's Degree course.
Foreign students
Documents should be issued in Catalan, Spanish or English or be a sworn translation into one of these languages. All foreign documents, including translations, should be issued by the approriate bodies, according to the law of the country concerned. Consult the procedure for legally validating documents.
- If your degree has been recognised in Spain, you should send a certified copy of the Ministry of Education recognition certificate.
- If your degree has not been recognised in Spain, you should send:
- The original certificate issued by the university where you studied, indicating the status of these studies as nationally standard or university specific, and that these studies give access to standard postgraduate studies in that country.
- An academic cerificate, issued by recognised academic authorities, of the validity of these studies and the level of academic attainment.

Resolution
- Academic Administration will inform you of the decision of the Admissions Committee on your application by e-mail.
- You may appeal against the decision of the Admissions Committee:
- Fill in the appeals form, sign it and send it Academic Administration.
- Send any necessary supporting documents.
- The Admissions Committee will consider your appeal and issue a final decision.
Recognition of credits
You may apply for recognition of credits for previous studies:
- Standard university studies, as in Article 6 of Spanish Royal Decree 1393/2007.
- University-specific studies.*
- Certified work experience, of a three-year minimum period, related to skills developed in the qualification concerned.*
*Recognised credits for concepts 2 and 3 above may total a maximum of 15% of the total credits for the Master's Degree course and will be entered into the student's academic record without a grade.
Procedure
- Send your application for recognition of credits to the Centre Secretary, for the attention of the Head of Studies of the Master's Degree you wish to enrol for.
- The Head of Studies will send your application on to the Admissions Committee of the Master's Degree concerned.
- The Admissions Committee will decide on your application.

- Certification of recognised standard studies:
- Academic record of the university degree course (already submitted with documents for application for admission).
- Syllabus of the university degree course concerned, with details of the duration of studies in academic years and individual subjects, with the original stamp of the University concerned.
- Certification of university specific studies and work experience:
- Certificate of studies with subjects taken
- Certificate of work experience, with details of professional tasks undertaken.
Registration
You can only enrol for your Universirty Master's Degree course once you have been offered a place.

UVic reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient students register for it. Current Master's Degree courses may be discontinued in future.
