The rapid growth of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) over the past decade has dramatically changed the ways in which people relate, communicate, and life. The mental health field is not an exception in the 21st century trends, and ICTs have started to be used for improving the emotional wellbeing and the quality of life of the general population.

This course will provide an introduction to the area of cyberpsychology, examining which emerging technologies can be used for the assessment, prevention, and treatment of mental health disorders. In particular, the course examines three types of technologies: Internet, mHealth, and Virtual and Augmented Reality. The students will also learn how to use secure and encrypted applications to protect the client's privacy.

In this course you will explore the relationship between language and thought focusing on issues in developmental psychology, first and second language acquisition, social and cultural aspects of language, and problem-solving. The course is based on lectures and individual and group assignments.
