UVic-UCC takes part in an event in Belgium as part of the European Universities project

UVic-UCC participated last week in the first face-to-face meeting of the seven universities that have been working on the application for the project entitled UP University - Shaping the New World of Work, Study & Living, which aims to create links between European regional ecosystems with the establishment of a strong strategic partnership for collaboration in education and research. This project is part of the European Universities initiative, which aims to create new European transnational campuses by means of cooperation agreements between institutions all over Europe.

The seven members of the consortium met in Belgium for a two-day programme of networking and planning organised by Artevelde UAS, which sent a delegation from its governing body to visit UVic-UCC in early May. The participating members are: HAN University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands), IMC Krems (Austria), Fachhochschule Münster (Germany), Vasile Alecsandri University of Bacău (Romania), University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia (Spain), Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Finland), and Artevelde University of Applied Sciences (Belgium).

This first multilateral contact took place between the seven directors of the consortium and their project teams, which consolidated it and showed that the partnership is up and running even before the European project has been officially approved. All the members declared their commitment to cooperation between the institutions and to mutual support.
