Nomination, application procedure, documentation and deadlines

This information is relevant to students wishing to do the double degree programme at the UVic Campus of the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC), according to our inter-institutional agreement.

 

Before coming to UVic

1. Nomination

Students must be nominated by their university and the university must confirm the nominations to UVic.

Universities should send us an email (incoming@uvic.cat) with the following information of each Double Degree nominee:

- First name and Surname     
- Gender     
- Email address     
- Studies at home institution     
- Studies at UVic

2. Application

 

The nominated students must fill in the online Application Form (active from 1 October on).

Click on the link above and follow the steps given:

  1. In order to fill in the form you have to register first (Registration). To complete your registration, you will receive an email with a link to activate your account and define your password. The password should contain at least 8 characters (letters, numbers and at least one special character - i.e. ?*$!).
  2. Once the account has been activated successfully, you can Log In using the same email and password.

Once the period for applications opens, we inform our university partners and their nominated students by email with details of how to submit the online application form and deadlines.

3. Period for processing applications

An acceptance letter (and further required documentation) will be sent to the International Office of the partner university by the Head of Studies of each faculty via email and regular post: late November

4. General information

Once the acceptance period has been closed, the International Relations Office will contact all the accepted students to welcome them to UVic-UCC and give them further advice for their stay: mid-December

5. Access to the UVic Virtual Campus

After the course registration once in Vic, Double Degree students should receive a message at their non-UVic email address (to the one provided in their mobility application form), with the username and instructions on how to receive a password. With this credentials, students will be able to login to the UVic Virtual Campus.

The Virtual Campus is an intranet with academic, administrative and other information for the university community and includes tools for communication, such as email, and learning, browsing and dynamic content: general university information and details of specific courses, communication of general interest, virtual classrooms (Moodle), your academic record, etc.

6. Academic information and documentation

For information on academic matters (calendar, courses, timetables etc.), the student should contact the international academic coordinator at UVic.

Note: Registration at UVic-UCC will take place once in Vic. Double Degree students will receive information and instructions for registration from our Academic Administrative Office.

7. Insurance

Based on our expertise in welcoming foreign students, we strongly recommend that before arrival at UVic all our international students take out comprehensive insurance with worldwide cover for every conceivable risk during your stay in Spain.

9. Visa (for Non-EU students)

At UVic-UCC we do not take care of the student’s Visa application process. However, here you have some information that can be of help.         
We advise you to check the Entry Requirements to Spain, either on the Ministry for Home Affairs website or the Embassy or Consular Office of Spain in your country.           
We recommend you to apply for the student/internship Visa at the Spanish Embassy from your current country of residence.  

1. Orientation Days

Before the beginning of the academic semester some Orientation Days will be organised for all international students.

  • Spring semester 2023/24: from 24 to 26 January 2024
  • Spring semester 2024/25: late January 2025 (dates pending)

2. Registration at UVic-UCC

Registration at UVic-UCC will take place during the Orientation Days, and after the academic informative session with the UVic international academic coordinator. The Double Degree students will receive information and instructions for registration from our Academic Administrative Office. For queries about the registration and related documentation, please contact the Academic Administrative Office.

3. Start of the academic semester

  • Autumn semester: mid-September*
  • Spring semester: late January*

* Note: Starting dates can vary depending on the faculty the student will be studying in.     
For more information the student should contact the UVic international academic coordinator at the faculty they will be based in.

At the end of their stay at UVic-UCC, students should take care of any specific requirements that the home university may have (documents to validate their stay, academic record, etc.).
