UVic-UCC retains its position in THE Impact Ranking

UVic-UCC has retained the position it achieved for the first time last year in the Impact Ranking 2022 produced by Times Higher Education (THE). According to yesterday afternoon's announcement, the University is once again in the group ranked 401-600 out of 1,001, which means that it has retained its position in the middle of the table, in 33rd place out of 41 universities in Spain, and sixth out of eight in Catalonia.

This ranking assesses universities worldwide in terms of achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 1,406 universities from 110 countries and regions around the world participated this time round, an increase of 391 compared to last year. The SDG in which the UVic-UCC has achieved outstanding results are those related to Health and Well-being, Education and Gender Equality.

According to the rector of the UVic-UCC, Josep Eladi Baños, "these new results show that the UVic-UCC's good position in the rankings is not a one-off, but is persistent over time, in every ranking."

This year's ranking is topped by Western Sydney University (Australia), followed by Arizona State University (United States) and Western University (Canada).
