Since its creation in 2011, the UVic-UCC Doctoral School has made very significant advances in terms of organizational structure, the consolidation of the training plan, the successful implementation of the current map of doctoral programs and the significant increase of theses enrolled, as well as the outstanding increase in the number of theses defended.
The Doctoral School has already achieved maturity, but faces new emerging challenges specific to our university and others that also affect doctoral education in Europe. This Action Plan aims to contribute to overcoming the current challenges of doctoral education and at the same time to promote doctoral studies as a lever to further boost the activity of research groups at UVic-UCC.
The development of the Action Plan has consisted of a diagnosis of the current situation of the Doctoral School and doctoral studies at UVic-UCC, the specification of the differential characteristics of the future model that we want the Doctoral School to have and the definition of the necessary actions to trace the path to carry out the transformation of the current situation to the future framework that we envision to achieve. The result is an action plan with 5 strategic axes, 22 strategic objectives and 114 actions, which are oriented to achieve 5 major milestones to transform the Doctoral Studies at UVic-UCC.
