There are three distinguishing features of this master's degree:
Teaching and curricular expertise. The master's degree is carried out at an education faculty and, therefore, puts a strong educational emphasis on all its academic activities. It includes teaching staff specialised in physical education and in the educational aspects of soprts and physical activity.
Cross-curricular academics. Various courses on the master's degree share activities in order to favour all-round training and the complex, cross-curricular and global development of future teaching competences.
Development of digital competence. The master's degree integrates digital activities on several courses to promote the development of digital competence as well as the ability to integrate digital life and ICT into teaching practice.
Students of the master's will do practical placements in centres selected by the Department of Education (Order EDU / 122/2009, March 11; Resolution EDU / 2050/2009, June 25). Placement centres will be chosen according to regional proximity and affinity with the master's programme. Students already working as teachers (in subsidised or state schools) will not be able to carry out their placements at their own centres. Alternative centres will be adjudicated in these cases.
